Membership

OPC Provincial Constitution recognizes two classes of Members: Individual Members and Provincial Councillor Members. See the LINK for details on OPC Provincial Membership Policy.

If you recently became a principal or vice-principal, becoming a Member of the OPC is time sensitive. Submit your application within 60 days of your first day in the role to be eligible for historical protective services coverage. Click here to apply. It will take you to the OPC Provincial website. Full OPC Membership As a Full Member, you will receive
  • Protective Services support for matters of employment

  • professional advice from experienced consultants who are former principals

  • regular emails and updates from our current President

  • our award-winning The Register magazine

  • access to Member-only web resources

  • discounted Member rates for Professional Learning

  • eligibility for the OPC Group Benefits plan, if working for a participating board and

  • discounted rates and extra services through our Member Discount program.

Term OPC Membership Retired administrators who were former OPC Members can apply for Term membership to receive Protective Services coverage while in supply administrator positions. It is important to note that Protective Services coverage is not provided to those with Associate status. Term membership applies to work up to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) limit during a school year (September-August). If you work beyond the end of the month in which you reach that limit, you can extend your coverage, however, full membership fees will become payable. Apply within 30 calendar days of the start of your first term position of the school year to receive retroactive coverage $761
Associate Membership While retired OPC Members may become Associates of the OPC, Associate status does not provide access to protective services support should you return to work as term/supply administrators. Only a Term membership offers that level of support. $130
